Ryder my 4 year old will be attending this event with Griffin.
We have had Griffin for a year now & its been an amazing year. To think a year ago i would never of thought to attempt Ryder to walk for an event. (Maybe in a pram)
A year ago when Ryder started walking with Griffin from the carpark to kindergym would take 30mins....
To walk from the carpark into the woodpark would take 30mins. Throwing himself onto the ground not wanting to walk, trying to get away. It was hard work to do anything that was ment to be fun!!!
Now a year later he loves it, he seeks for Griffins jacket so we can go for a walk & have more new adventures. Griffin has given Ryder safety, confidence, security & most importantly allowed Ryder to start to explore his independence within his environments with Griffin right next to him. Socialising now when we are at the shops with giving staff eye contact when he is paying for items. Thats such a big buzz for me!!!!
Seriously this is all thanks to Griffin & the support he/we receive from The Guide Dogs!!!
So of course we want to help pay it forward for other families to be able to have the wonderful gift that Ryder has been given.
I'm putting my best foot forward to raise money to help children with autism make themselves heard.
By running or walking through Run4Autism I'm supporting organisations that support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Please like and share the Run4Autism facebook page to get more people raising awareness Australia wide. (https://www.facebook.com/Run4Autism)
1 in 100 Australians are diagnosed with ASD, affecting their communication and social skills and how they cope with the world. Your support and money will change the lives of these kids and their families.
