Hi my name's Kourtney, can you please sponsor me? I'm going to run and ride a total of 100km to raise money for AutismNT. It might take me a while, but that's okay. I want to finish the 100km in April which is Autism Awareness month. I will be marking on a chart how far I run and ride so I will always know how far I have gone and how far I have left to go to reach my 100km goal. I want to do this because I want people to know that Autism isn't something scary and doesn't need to make people nervous. That we're awesome too. Thank you. From Kourtney. :)

Hi everyone,
So far I have ran and rode a total 16.5km which means I have 83.5km left to go.I love writing the km on my chart because it makes me feel proud of how far I have gone. It has been so fun raising money and running and riding and i hope that now you know Autism isn't scary. Thank you everybody who has raised money for AutismNT by sponsoring me. Lots of people have told me nice things about what I'm doing and it makes me so happy that people have said very nice things to me. Yesterday I reached my fundraising goal of $600, so now I have decided to try and go to $1000. I hope you all can help. Thank you. From Kourtney. :)

Hi everyone,
I have ridden and ran 25km. That means I am 1/4 of the way and it's not even April yet. On my birthday when I turned eight nearly two weeks ago I got a Fitbit and a little computer for my bike to tell me how many kilometres I have done when I have been running and riding. I got them from my Grandma and my mum and little brother. I can trick the Fitbit by jumping on the trampoline and it counts it as my steps, but I don’t write that on my chart, because I can’t write jumping because that would be cheating. I have been talking to people about Autism, and also people at school. When they ask what autism is I tell them that it means our brain is different. When I tell them that they still want to be my friend. I think it is good that people know about Autism so that people know it is not something scary and when someone else has autism that there isn’t something wrong with them that it just means that their brain is different to the other person.
The funniest thing when I have been running and riding is when mum pushes my little brother in his wheelchair because he laughs a lot when she runs fast. He is in a wheelchair because he has a broken leg. He doesn’t like having a broken leg, he’s not just in the wheelchair for fun. It is hard when he has a broken leg because he needs us to help him every day, but that’s okay because we will help him.
I have also decided that I am going to get my mum to help me make up certificates for the businesses that have sponsored me to say thank you to them for sponsoring me. I will post them to the businesses so that they know that I think that they're awesome for sponsoring me. If you're one of the business people I will post one to you soon.
So far I have raised $1460 and now I am going to try and see if we can raise $2000 for AutismNT. I hope that you can help me get up to that amount of money by sponsoring me.
Thankyou,
From Kourtney :)

Well… it has been a long time since we updated this page. I do apologise (I forgot the password..oops). This is Kourtneys mum writing this post today. Kourtney has been busy running and riding as usual. He has now completed 78km of his 100km journey with 22km to go!!

He also recently had the honour of being presented an award by the Honourable John Hardy, Administrator of the Northern Territory in recognition of his fundraising efforts for Autism NT. At that point he had raised just over $1500. Since then his (BRILLIANTLY AWESOME) school hosted a ‘Wear Blue for Autism Day’ to support Kourtney with over $750 being raised by families and staff. His total is now over $2700 and he is now ranked at #7 of the highest individual fundraisers on the Run4Autism platform since it started!! Although Kourtney didn’t finish his journey in April he is still keenly pursuing his 100km goal hoping to raise even more by the time he finishes. Below is a copy of a speech he gave at his school assembly after their blue day.

“Hi my name is Kourtney and I would like to talk to you today about Autism.
I have Autism. Autism means that our brains are a bit different to other people’s brains. It means sometimes I get overwhelmed by stuff that other kids don’t. Like noises. I don’t like it when things change and people don’t tell me. My brain finds that a bit tough to deal with.
Autism is different in different people too. My brother has autism too but he likes making lots of noise.
Some people with autism find it tough to talk. When I was little I used to talk to my mum with sign language. Like making a meaning with my hands like drink or food and stuff. I can’t really remember it now.
I am running and riding 100km to raise money for AutismNT. I write on a chart how far I go. So far I have ran and rode a total of 74 (seventy four) kilometres. I only have 26 (twenty six) kilometres to go to get to 100km.
I want to talk about Autism. I want people to know that autism isn’t scary. That it doesn’t have to make you feel nervous if someone tells you they have autism. It doesn’t mean they have something wrong with them. It just means their brain is a bit different. I want people to know that people with autism are awesome too. Autism NT help families and kids with Autism in the NT and I wanted to raise money for them so they can keep giving people that help.
Thank you for wearing blue yesterday. I really love that you supported me and thank you for helping me reach and go past my goal of $2000 dollars!"
